Radford University senior Troy Stallard is a busy man — and not just with his classes and fieldwork in the emergency services program. The Air Force veteran and first-generation college student sought out a variety of experiences while a Highlander with a larger goal in mind. Stallard plans on applying to medical school after receiving his diploma in May.

United States Sen. Mark Warner hosted members of the Radford University community, local elected officials and regional business leaders for a luncheon and discussion of economic development, infrastructure, community partnerships and entrepreneurship in the New River Valley at The Highlander Hotel Radford.

Senior nursing student and soccer player Noah Haddad comes from a family of healthcare professionals, so he always knew that he wanted to pursue a healthcare career. After being recruited to play soccer at Radford University—his father's alma mater—he discovered the Nursing program. Four years later, he's preparing for graduation and a nursing career.

Radford University has achieved gold status as a Military Friendly School and a Military Spouse Friendly School.

This year, the number of students and guests registered for the three events brought nearly 3,000 people to the Radford and Roanoke locations – the largest group in university history.
