Message from President Brian O. Hemphill.

Establishment of the Presidential Fellows Program

Dear Teaching and Research Faculty,

Just a few weeks ago as part of the annual State of the University Address, I announced the establishment of the Presidential Fellows Program, which will create opportunities for faculty members to dedicate time, expertise and passion to a specific project, while fulfilling the University’s mission to serve current and future generations of Highlanders. Administered and sponsored by my office, the Presidential Fellows Program offers reassigned time to one faculty member during the spring semester to pursue an idea designed to enhance the University’s focus on teaching, research and service.

Interested faculty are invited to submit an online application expressing interest in being selected as the inaugural Presidential Fellow. The application period will end December 1, 2018. Following a review of applications and possible follow-up questions and/or in-person interviews, it is anticipated that the Presidential Fellow for the Spring 2019 semester will be named no later than December 15, 2018.

To learn more about this exciting opportunity, please visit the Presidential Fellows Program website.

With Highlander Pride,
