Professor Ken Smith is one of several artists whose works will be featured as part of an exhibit at the Floyd Center for the Arts Gallery at Hotel Floyd. The “Artists’ and Author’s Reception” kicks off on Friday, September 14, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Floyd Hotel and will feature three local artists along with a local author. The reception will be open to the public and will include free refreshments, a no-host beer & wine bar, and the opportunity to meet with the artists. Select pieces of art will be for sale.

The lineup of artists includes jewelry by artist Maureen Hearn; landscape paintings by professor Ken Smith, and pottery by Mary Haddon. Local author Chelsea Adams will give a reading of selected works from her books of poetry, “At Last Light,” “Looking for a Landing,” and “Java Poems.” The reading will be accompanied by live guitar performed by the author’s husband, Bill Adams.

Work by the artists will be on exhibit and for sale at the Hotel Floyd through the second Friday of November.
