Days before returning to campus to begin the spring semester, a group of Radford University College of Business and Economics majors took a couple of days away from their winter breaks to learn more about the business world from a select group of the college’s successful alumni.
Students from the College of Business and Economics, College of Education and Human Development and College of Visual and Performing Arts are teaming up to participate in the 30-day Creative Sprint program.
This fall, students competed is a semester-long project designed by COBE faculty to spark creative and innovative thinking in the university student community.
Decision Sciences/Business Analytics
The Department of Management invites applications for a tenure-track position to begin August 2016. The position is subject to final authorization from the University. Requirements include an earned doctorate from an AACSB accredited college or school of business (those in the final stage of dissertation completion will be considered). Candidates’ primary emphasis should be in the area of Decision Sciences or Quantitative Analysis. Successful candidates will also have teaching expertise in operations management. Industry experience is preferred, but not required. A strong interest in both undergraduate and graduate teaching, evidence of research potential, and a capacity to support efforts to enhance the curriculum in analytics is expected. Rank at the assistant professor level is preferred, but other ranks may be considered.
The College of Business and Economics is accredited by AACSB International at both the undergraduate and graduate level (MBA). The Department of Management offers the BBA in management and is comprised of 13 full-time faculty members.
Radford University is a public, coeducational, Carnegie Master’s I University with an enrollment of about 10,000 students. The City of Radford is located in southwest Virginia, 10 miles from Blacksburg and Christiansburg. Other nearby cities include Charlotte, NC (2.5 hour drive), Richmond, VA (3.5 hour drive), and Washington D.C. (4.5 hour drive). The university atmosphere is residential.
