Associate Director of Admissions

Hello!  My name is Opal Merchant and I am the Associate Director for Transfer Recruitment. I oversee the admissions process for students transferring from New River Community Colleges and I assist students who are applying to our RN to BSN Online Fast Track program. I have been a part of the Highlander family for over 25 years and I have worked in Radford’s Admissions Office for 20 years.  I also completed my Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business degrees here at Radford University.

I enjoy the energy and excitement of working on a college campus and knowing that each student has their own story about the path taken to arrive at Radford University. Seeing students walk across the stage at commencement makes my job very rewarding.
