in Roanoke, deja vu from Iain picking me up at the same airport last year
when i returned from China. This was the view of the evening skies
and the mountains from the waiting room.

Saturday (9/20/03) after Isabel,
I had ran away from Norfolk to stay with Mum in Midlothian, southwest of
Richmond. We had been out of electricity since Thursday and so we
had our first gas grill cookout at the neighbor's house with lots of candles,
teekee torches, and battery powered radio playing jazz. Pictured
(l-r) our hostess Margeret Hughes, Ron and Pauline Edwards, Harriet the
Yorkie, and Mum.
