Macromedia® Flash 8: A Tutorial Guide
By jay armstrong, jen dehaan  (Safari books online/ RU library)
Course Description

This course surveys advanced Web production techniques and software for the mass media. This will include advanced html, scripting, audio, video, animation and use of databases on the Web.

Not all work can be completed in class. You should expect to spend at least three to four additional hours working on your assignments.

Course requirements

This class requires that you keep up with reading, attend class regularly and performwell on exams and quizzes. You will also think, react, read, watch, search, explore and share what you find with the class.

Assignments will be given regularly to test your understanding of reading and to involve you in the class.

Projects
will involve exploing the current and future directions of a particular mass medium or media function. (40% grade)

Tests will be multiple choice, matching, T-F, possibly some short answer questions.

Submitting projects and extra credit memos: All papers and memos must be submitted on paper in class or in my office mailbox to ensure credit. Email submissions are usually OK if done correctly (no spaces for attachment file titles, proper suffix) but you may need to save your work and submit it on paper if there are technical problems.

Attendance requirements: Missing more than 5 of the 45 classes scheduled will result in a grade reduction of one letter; missing more than 10 of the classes will result in a two letter grade reduction, and missing more than 15 will result in a three letter grade reduction.
