Brian, I am really starting to like the articles you are writing! Wait, I never not liked them to begin with! As Mo said, it is awesome to see other people with open minds at this school. There is so much negativity and close mindedness and racism at this school that it sickens me. Growing up overseas in 4 foreign countries (Australia, Indonesia, England, Hungary) has had an influence on the way I see the world and other cultures yet (as your article proves), there is always something new to learn. Keep this kind of pro-active work going Brian and you just might be suprised with some great results!

For the next couple of weeks we are going to explore Muslims and the Islamic religion then we will move onto other cultures. Taking time to explore these different cultures instead of just spending a week on a certain one (which is just impossible) brings much more knowledge on them and that's what I think we need. Next week I will explore Muslim women in society and I will explain about the "myths" and the "truths". The "myths" that we hear are what we know through TV, which isn't always a reliable medium. It's time for the truth.

Animals such as cows, sheep, goats, deer, moose, chickens, ducks and game birds are also Halal but they must be slaughtered in order to be suitable for consumption.

Turkish moose under glass is my favorite Muslim dish.

One reason for this is this is the fastest and least painful way to kill an animal. The Prophet Muhammad stressed being kind and merciful to ALL living animals. This is why in the Muslim world you see people slaughtering animals like this instead of shocking them electrically (which is extremely painful) or shooting them. It is essential that the animal has the least pain possible. Good article Brian again!

The Qur'an does not promote violence at all and killing animals for food does not have anything to do with killing humans, especially beheading them. The Qur’an says: “Take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus does He command you, that ye may learn wisdom” (6:151). The only time you’re ever allowed to kill someone is when the law necessitates it such as the death penalty only if the crime is heinous (very heinous) but it’s not to be used on innocent people. Another example would be protecting your home from an invader. Self-defense is necessary because you are defending your own life against the assailant. Clearly, the Qur’an does not promote or glorify violence. The Qur'an doesn't promote terrorism or actions done by terrorists.

I was going to try to stay out of it, but since it was brought up, my research suggest something different. I just happened to have these lying around:
Regarding infidels (unbelievers), they are the Muslim's "inveterate enemies" (Sura 4:101). Muslims are to "arrest them, besiege them and lie in ambush everywhere" (Sura 9:5) for them. They are to "seize them and put them to death wherever you find them, kill them wherever you find them, seek out the enemies of Islam relentlessly" (Sura 4:90). "Fight them until Islam reigns supreme" (Sura 2:193). "Cut off their heads, and cut off the tips of their fingers" (Sura 8:12).

- If a Muslim does not go to war, Allah will kill him (Sura 9:39). He is to be told, "the heat of war is fierce, but more fierce is the heat of Hell-fire" (Sura 9:81).

- A Muslim must "fight for the cause of Allah with the devotion due to him" (Sura 22:78)

- Muslims must make war on the infidels (unbelievers) who live around them (Sura 9:123).

- Muslims are to be "ruthless to unbelievers" (Sura 48:29).

- A Muslim should "enjoy the good things" he has gained by fighting (Sura 8:69).

- A Muslim can kill any person he wishes if it be a "just cause" (Sura 6:152).

- Allah loves those who "fight for his cause" (Sura 61:3). Anyone who fights against Allah or renounces Islam in favor of another religion shall be "put to death or crucified or have their hands and feet cut off alternative sides" (Sura 5:34).

- Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him. Sahih Al-Bukhari (9:57)

- Slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush. (Koran 9:5)

- Take him and fetter him and expose him to hell fire. (Koran 69:30-37)

- I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, Smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips of them. (Koran 8:12)

- They should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides. (Koran 5:33)

Now there was one verse in the Qur'an in which you mentioned that I want to make a little more clearer. Now the verse said: "Take him and fetter him and expose him to hell fire." (Koran 69:30-37). Now this has nothing to do with punishing someone because he or she isn't a Muslim. Now here is another version of the verse (which is the same thing but different words) that I have which says: "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. Further make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High, and would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! So no friend hath he Here this Day. Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, which one do eat but those in sin" (Qur'an, 69:30:37). What this statement refers to the afterlife in Hell, Judgement Day, and the results of his/her sins.

That's why the Islamic religion is so misunderstood because it all comes down to the holy book: The Qur'an and the holy sacred text that is in it. To fully understand the words and have a better understanding of Muslims, whether you are a Muslim or NOT, look at a Qur'an with commentary that will provide a better understanding. But just reading the text without understanding it no matter if you have the commentary, is not serving any purpose.

Context tends to bite quotes in the keister.

The other problem with interpreting the Qur'an in English is that it's not meant to be read in English. There was no translation until the 20th Century and that is only to aide new converts. As what happens with any such endeavor, words that only exist in one language must be replaced with near meanings. Unfortunately, not all near meanings are exact, especially two disimilar languages like English and Arabic.

You got those Qur'an quotes on a website which hates the Muslim religion and they are not accurate. You do not even know the original Arabic to go around quoting the Qur'an which one must memorize many volumes of commentary until one is allowed to tell the true opinion of verses. The Muslims religion says that one is not allowed to kill women and children in warfare. What does the Old Testament (still followed by Jews) say about this? In the cities of these nations whose land the Lord your God is giving you as a patrimony, you shall not leave any creature alive. You shall annihilate them — Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, Jebusites — as the Lord your God commanded you. (Deuteronomy 20:16-17) Go now and fall upon the Amalekites and destroy them, and put their property under ban. Spare no one; put them all to death, men and women, children and babes in arms, herds and flocks, camels, and asses. (1 Samuel 15:2-3) After the conquest of Jericho: “They devoted the city to the Lord and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it — men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.” (Joshua 6:21) But nobody says Christians are violent because you have to know the context of the verses. As for cutting off hands for the theif well the Old Testament Judaic Law isn't as merciful as the Muslims they say - 022:002 If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him. And, 024:007 If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you. DEATH for a theif. Yet anyone who knows anything about Christianity and Judaism would be patient before judging a religion on 4 or 5 isolated verses. The truth is that firstly your translations are wrong, secondly you have not memorized the Qur'an like the muslims do, thirdly you do not know the places where each verse was revealed and their contexts, fourthy you do not know what the 6 major commentators have said on this verse and what opinions are strong and which ones are weak. So you do not understand what you are talking about. Before you say such things about the Muslim's religion why don't you ask yourself - "are those quotes from the Bible barbaric?" and if you say yes then your saying God is barbaric! Although you follow the "new testament now" you believe it is the same God of the Old Testament and therefore by rejecting those laws (which are much harsher punishments than any Middle Eastern nation today) you are rejecting what is in your own book. I personally know Muslims myself and I have not found a kinder people who would not spend all of their energy to help me out when I am sick or troubled.

Ray, there are certain Muslim websites that you shouldn't look at because they are totally inaccurate and I look in the Qur'an and I don't find these quotes the way that you listed here. As poster Jackie Chan said (which I really appreciate for him to address here) "The truth is that firstly your translations are wrong, secondly you have not memorized the Qur'an like the muslims do, thirdly you do not know the places where each verse was revealed and their contexts, fourthy you do not know what the 6 major commentators have said on this verse and what opinions are strong and which ones are weak. So you do not understand what you are talking about." I may not be a full-fledge Muslim like the Arabs are who has been reading and studying the Qu'ran for years and they know the language, but I do recognize and can tell apart what is accurate and inaccurate because the verses that you mentioned, there is absolutely NO WAY that these things would be written in the Qur'an by God's (Allah) words. But the first step Ray is to actually read the Qur'an and not look at the websites which so many non-Muslims make the mistake of doing.

I was not going to answer this but since more than half of this was fabrications I have decided to answer. May God give you all good Ray and keep you away from all harm. The Prophet Muhammad told us to assume the best of every human being so I will assume that you do not hate Islam or me personally. I hope to point out where you were incorrect and nothing more. If you want examples of the Prophet Muhammad showing mercy then go read my article:

Regarding infidels (unbelievers), they are the Muslim's "inveterate enemies" (Sura 4:101).

(I.E. those non-Muslims who are enemies to Islam are the enemies to Islam. Abu Talib, the Prophet's uncle, for instance was a known non-Muslim who was friendly and not an enemy to the Muslims. This verse was revealed speaking of the Makkan Pagans who had harassed the Muslims in public, attacked them in public, given them an economic boycott, kicked them out of their homes, tried to assisinate the Prophet, and fought in battle against the Muslims. If these are not "enemies" then I do not know what an enemy is. This is not talking about non-Muslims who are not enemies to Islam and this is extremely simple and basic Islamic tafsir. Please check Tafsir al-Jalalayn, Tafsir al-Qurtubi, and Tafsir al-Tabari in Arabic for this verse.)

(I.E. when they are in the middle of a valid war fulfilling all of it’s preconditions in Islamic law. Not concerning times of peace in result of a permanent and temporary treaty (`ahd). This is not speaking of Muslims in everyday life whether in a Muslim or non-Muslim country. If you want references again please see Tafsir al-Jalalayn for this verse which is in Arabic)

They are to "seize them and put them to death wherever you find them, kill them wherever you find them, seek out the enemies of Islam relentlessly" (Sura 4:90). (I.E. please see Tafsir Tabari. This verse was only revealed for one particular instance in history and is not for modern times – “them” here means those Pagan Makkans who broke the treaty of nonaggression with the Muslims ONLY. “Wherever you find them” means simply one thing “if you find them in the sacred mosque you are given permission to fight those Pagans who breached the treaty” and again this verse was revealed only concerning one historical incident. Yet how many people were killed as a result of this verse? Not one single person as a general amnesty was declared when the Prophet entered Makkah forgiving the Pagans who had fought him although he had permission to fight. This if anything proves the Muslim ethics of war. Also please see the discussion of this verse in the context of the verse on treaty which is available in the section on war in Bidiyat al-Mujtahid by Ibn Rushd al-Saghir, as well as the discussion in Fathul Qadir by Imam al-Shawkani of this verse both in Arabic which will further explain my point in greater detail.)

"Fight them until Islam reigns supreme" (Sura 2:193). "Cut off their heads, and cut off the tips of their fingers" (Sura 8:12).

(I.E. These verses are specifically talking about wars and battles, and were revealed concerning the battles of the Makkan Pagans with the Prophet Muhammad. Just so you know the context of these battles the Muslims were harassed, attacked physically, economically boycotted, attempted to be assassinated and kicked out from their homes. Thomas Hobbes himself said “preparing for war is war itself” and it is obvious to anyone that this is a state of war mentioned above. The Prophet Muhammad did not fight the Makkan Pagans for 13 years although they had fought him much earlier and initiated violence by making a deal with a tribal leader in Makkah to kill the Prophet Muhammad (who was later stopped). Thus these verses are specifically talking about war and battle and if you want more references please see specifically Tafsir al-Jalalayn about these two verses – also in Arabic.)

- If a Muslim does not go to war, Allah will kill him (Sura 9:39). He is to be told, "the heat of war is fierce, but more fierce is the heat of Hell-fire" (Sura 9:81). (I.E. this is talking about a specific context in war again. The verse actually reads in all 3 major English translations: that God will not “kill him” but in fact punish him. This is speaking of he who is called to fight and whom it becomes obligatory on with conditions – if he does not fight then he is doing a major wrong not only to God but to the community. If someone is drafted into the Army in the United States and does not go it is the same concept. Sometimes when the community is endangered one has to fight and not fighting is allowing danger to happen. Thus the context of this is also entirely skewed. Please see Tafsir al-Jalalayn on this one again – in Arabic.

A Muslim must "fight for the cause of Allah with the devotion due to him" (Sura 22:78) (I.E. this is speaking about war again within context. If you want to know the true exact legal definition of military Jihad (we’re not talking about the greater Jihad here – the Jihad of the soul) then let me define it for you straight from the great Pillar of the Maliki school Ibn Rushd al-Saghir in his Muqaddimah “Jihad is fighting against a non-Muslim state in the absence of a peace treaty (`Ahd) with the non-Muslims nation.” And if we continue to look upon the Muqaddimah (which are the notes of the Mudawwana of Sahnun as narrated by `Abdal Rahman ibn Qassim as narrated by Imam Malik whom was Prophecized by the Prophet as the “Scholar from Madina.”) we see that fighting in warfare is only obligatory until the borders of the Muslim state are secure in Islamic jurisprudence. As for the conquests of the pasts – not just the Muslims made conquests but so did EVERY nation (this was the state of the world back then) the Byzantines, the Europeans, Napoleon, the colonization of the entire world by Europe, Imperialism, etc. In this day and age it is obviously accepted that nations are urged to engage in peace treaties with each other unlike the past which was ravaged by expansionist intentions and thus did not witness peace treaties as often.

- Muslims must make war on the infidels (unbelievers) who live around them (Sura 9:123). (I.E. this is totally taken out of context and quite funny. Please check Tafsir al-Tabari as well as Tafsir al-Jalalayn on this verse which clearly states that in war one should fight those who are “nearer” (it does not say “live around them” that’s actually fabrication!) to them instead of those farther than them while in warfare – geographically in battle. This is not speaking about one’s non-Muslim neighbors. To illustrate the extreme weakness of this argument firstly the words “who live around them” were fabricated and the word in Arabic is “Aqrabun” which comes form Qurba meaning nearness in proximity. “Live around them” is NOT what it says in the verse! Secondly those who live around the Muslims in a Muslim state are the people of the covenant and the Prophet said “Whoever shows enmity to one of the people of the covenant will have me as his enemy on the Day of Ressurection.” Which further refutes your argument. What about a non-Muslim state? A Muslim living in a non-Muslim state is obliged to follow their laws as he is under a contract, or a citizenship, in this nation. The Prophet said “the sign of a hypocrite is he will break his covenants.” It is unlawful to break the laws of a non-Muslim state as long as those laws do not cause you to directly disobey God (and if one is caused to directly disobey God without alternative he is obliged to move). Thus your argument is completely moot as if a Muslim murdered his non-Muslim neighbor in either a Muslim state or a non-Muslim state both would be a major sin and not allowed under Islamic law what so ever. If you want references please go see all of the classical books of fiqh or Islamic jurisprudence in Arabic including Mukthasar Khalil of Imam Khalil, Aqrab al-Masalik by Imam Dardir, Umdat al-Salik, Mukhtasar al-Quduri, and al-Qawanin al-Fiqhiyyah of Ibn Juzayy al-Kalbi. It is interesting you note this because actually many Muslim scholars would say whoever would say such a thing that murder was allowed for one’s non-Muslim neighbor had actually left Islam!

- Muslims are to be "ruthless to unbelievers" (Sura 48:29). The correct translation is “strong” – the word in Arabic is SHADDAN meaning strong, and holding one’s own ground. The “unbelievers” in this verse specifically refer to those unbelievers who are enemies to Islam - meaning one should be strong in defense and unwavering in defending the faith and standing against this enmity. The word “ruthless” does not even transfer to the word “SHADDAN” and even the elementary student of Arabic would tell you this. If you want references please see Tafsir al-Jalalayn or Fathul Qadir of Imam Shawkani. Thus you have misquoted a verse again and misused it’s context.

- A Muslim should "enjoy the good things" he has gained by fighting (Sura 8:69). This means that Muslim soldiers for payback are allowed to use and spend the booty that is won in battle. Simple. Please see Tafsir al-Tabari or Tafsir al-Qurtubi.

- A Muslim can kill any person he wishes if it be a "just cause" (Sura 6:152). I don’t know what this is? The verse actually says “And do not approach the property of the orphan except in the best manner until he attains his maturity, and give full measure and weight with justice-- We do not impose on any soul a duty except to the extent of its ability; and when you speak, then be just though it be (against) a relative, and fulfill Allah's covenant; this He has enjoined you with that you may be mindful;” which is totally different from what you said above.

- Allah loves those who "fight for his cause" (Sura 61:3). Again all these verses must be read in the context of warfare which is supposed to be for God’s cause and not for money, wealth, or power.

Anyone who fights against Allah or renounces Islam in favor of another religion shall be "put to death or crucified or have their hands and feet cut off alternative sides" (Sura 5:34). - Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him. Sahih Al-Bukhari (9:57) These are speaking of the penalty of treason in an Islamic state.

- Slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush. (Koran 9:5) “Idolators” who broke the treaty, and nobody was killed as a result of this verse which only was for a specific time in history as the war had ended when the Prophet came into Makkah and he had pardoned the people who had fought him. I have already answered this above.

- Take him and fetter him and expose him to hell fire. (Koran 69:30-37) Hellfire exists and God will fill people in it who deserve it. Simple.

In further refutation to the paranoid worldview that “the Muslims are out to get us” and “we should be scared of our Muslim neighbors.”

What does Islam say about neighbors?

First of all as I had quoted in my article a woman came and threw trash on the Prophet Muhammad every single day – did he kill her? No! He was not thrown trash upon one day and so he visited his neighbor worried about her – as she was sick. From the mercy of this visit the woman became Muslim.

Second of all the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad on neighbors. I will let the reader decide if “Muslims hate their neighbors.” Brian’s article was about food and so I do not want to get off topic too much. The next posts should be about food. If your going to talk about war or something else then please do it on your own time as Brian’s article was on food.

The Qur’an says on neighbors (instead of the fabrication about killing your neighbors posted above which I refuted - which was really about battle rules and fighting the nearer enemy before the further one):

"Worship Allah and join none with Him (in worship); and do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, Al-Masakin (the poor), the neighbour who is near of kin, the neighbour who is a stranger, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (you meet), and those (slaves) whom your right hands possess.'' (4:36)

Thus Muslims are to “do good to the neighbor” not “kill the neighbor.”

Here is what the Prophet Muhammad said about being good to neighbors, Muslim OR non-Muslim. These come from the book of the great Jurist and scholar of Prophetic Sayings Imam Nawawi in his great book Riyadh al-Saliheen:

303. Ibn `Umar and `Aishah (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "(The Angel) Gabriel kept recommending treating neighbours with kindness until I thought he would assign a share of inheritance". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

304. Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) commanded me thus, "O Abu Dharr! Whenever you prepare a broth, put plenty of water in it, and and give some of it to your neighbours". [Muslim].

In another narration of Muslim, narrated Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him): My friend, (Messenger of Allah (PBUH)) advised me saying, "Whenever you prepare a broth, put plenty of water in it, and give some to your neighbours and then give them out of this with courtesy.''

305. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "By Allah, he is not a believer! By Allah, he is not a believer! By Allah, he is not a believer.'' It was asked, "Who is that, O Messenger of Allah?'' He said, "One whose neighbour does not feel safe from his evil". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

306. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "O Muslim women! No one of you should consider insignificant (a gift) to give to her neighbour even if it is (a gift of) the trotters of a sheep". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

307. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "No one should prohibit his neighbour from placing a peg in his wall". Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) added: Now I see you turning away from this (Sunnah), but by Allah, I shall go on proclaiming it. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

308. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "He who believes in Allah and the Last Day let him not harm his neighbour; and he who believes in Allah and the Last Day let him show hospitality to his guest; and he who believes in Allah and the Last Day let him speak good or remain silent". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

309. Abu Shuraih Al-Khuza`i (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "He who believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him be kind to his neighbour; and he who believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him show hospitality to his guest; and he who believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him either speak good or remain silent". [Muslim].

311. `Abdullah bin `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The best of companions with Allah is the one who is best to his companions, and the best of neighbours to Allah is the one who is the best of them to his neighbour". [At-Tirmidhi].

As the Prophet Muhammad asked his companions “do you love God?” he answered “then serve your fellow man.”

I have known Catholic and Protestant Christians all my life, as well a Jews, who will tell me that you cannot just take any isolated verse without knowing it’s context and interpretation. It is the same for Islam.

So, when the Qur'an says it's OK to kill somebody, then it's OK? Why does the name "Salman Rushdie" come to mind? What was he charged with? Oh, yeah...."Blasphemy". How about the Islamic penalties of stoning adulterers to death, or hanging homosexuals? I realize that the Qur'an isn't "gay-friendly", but hanging homosexuals? That makes Fred Phelps look like a moderate. Yeah, he condemns gays in the strongest terms, but at least he doesn't murder them. The fact that Islam treats homosexuals WORSE than Phelps is a damning indictment of it's system of "laws". Phelps is completely loony-tunes, and Islamic "law" goes much, much further than even he does.

Let's remain on the "Food" topic right now. Don't worry, I do plan to write an article about the quotes that Ray pointed out and how inaccurate they are in this series of articles about Islam so we will discuss that in the future and I will take not of the comments made on that subject. I think that it's great that we are discussing a religion and culture that is so misunderstood but in order to fully understand it here are the materials that you need: (1) The Qur'an, (2) the Haddiths, and (3) get rid of inaccurate opinions and from what you see on TV. And I think Omar for clearing up the misinterpreted quotes that Ray found but I must say that Ray is doing what any ordinary person without a full knowledge of the Islamic religion are doing and that is going on the internet on the wrong websites and it's DEFINTELY NOT Ray's fault at all--it is the websites but a person must have the responsiblity to trust it for its accuracy or just take it with a grain of salt. But thank you Omar, my right hand man, for clearing up the inaccurate quotes. Now back to food!!

Ok, first of all there ARE and will ALWAYS BE a bad bunch in a particular race or religion. There are bad whites, blacks, Asians, latinos, Christians, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, etc. We cannot be in control of Muslims who indulge in the behavior that is mentioned but we should know that there are friendly & wonderful Muslims out there who are pious, harmless and try to live life without being persecuted. Getting to even a bit about them whether it be food, women, or clothing, this provides knowledge. We all have brains and I can't see why we don't allow ourselves to educate ourselves on a topic that is so misunderstood, misinterpreted, and even persecuted.

also, in the ACTS of the apostles we see # Peter claims that Dt.18:18-19 refers to Jesus, saying that those who refuse to follow him (all non-Christians) must be killed. 3:23

in Romans we find that gays are to be killed: Homosexuals (those "without natural affection") and their supporters (those "that have pleasure in them") are "worthy of death." 1:31-32

the verse reads: 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

and in Revelations we learn that Jesus is going to kill someone when he comes back according to the bible

2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

so if you follow the bible whats their to complain about?

Maybe you should share some light about the 800 years of Muslim Spain, where Christians, Jews and Muslims were safe under Islamic Rule. Or how about the Arabic numeral system that we use today. I wrote an article about "Food" in the Muslim & Islamic culture. Not one word of "war" or "terrorist" has entered into my article at all. I already said that I would write about that soon since I'm covering "Islam" in this series. No one has talked about Fasting or even asked about Ramadan which is a special holiday for Muslims. I took my time to write this article, looking through the Qur'an and getting the most accurate information from both reference AND memory. This article isn't only about food but it covers a wide spectrum of topics that revolve AROUND food. If all a person can do up here is talk about war, terrorists & Muslims, then they are 100% ignorant on the subject of Muslims and their knowledge needs to expand the horizons because that's not what Islam is about. Islam is a religion AND a culture, with a broad range of topics from clothing, religion, food, customs, manners, and history such as yes, wars, but what consisted in these wars and even from the war today, it isn't what Islam is all about.

Citizens of most Middle Eastern countries are forbidden to eat lamb under certain circumstances covered by Islamic law. The law reads, "After having sexual relations with a lamb, it is a mortal sin to eat its flesh." In Oman, if a man has sex with a camel, a cow, or a ewe, the law says that the animal's milk becomes impure and is no longer suitable for human consumption. I'll stop, but I first wanted to point out that while you think I am racist and narrow minded, there are obviously people who agree with me. I bet you anything there are a lot more people who really have the same sentiments as me but are too afraid to publically admit it. My only hope is to show people that there is truth to what I say and hopefully they will come forward in my defense. I am not attacking Brian or Omar because I think they are upstanding citizens, but their beliefs are wrong and inherently dangerous, whether they choose to admit it or not. I know I will not convert them for they are set in their ways. I only hope to keep those who are unsure away (notice I never said convert them to Christianity because I have my own problems with that religion, too.)

In the New Testament Jesus came so that the Old Testament rule and regulations would be canceled and that it would not have to live by the law in the OT but that by grace you are saved. Here's the main problem with that way of thinking. Hitler is ALWAYS referred to as an individual. We do not use him as an example to show how all straight-white-Christian-males are bad, bad, bad boys. A muslim guy got pissed off for being bullied and reacted violently at school. Sound familiar? Except you are wrong. He wasnt bullied. His people were bullied. If you actually listen to the news you would kow he did that to protest the portrayal of Muslims in America after 9/11. Way to go genius. "I'm going to prove we are peaceful by trying to run over innocent civilians." Sounds like a real peaceful (and not to mention rational) thought process. In case you can't tell that was dripping with sarcasm. Funny how moronic some people are that I actually have to say I was using sarcasm.
