Welcome back, proletariats!
Like the oppressed, financially indentured servants to the capitalist pigs that we are, the Whim Staff has slaved away within the stuffy confines of Heth 209A - otherwise dubiously known as the Student Media Lab.
While those fat profitphiles sit in their chummy new "Bonnie" Student Center, we Whimmers remained cramped behind surplus computers, tirelessly toiling away into wee hours of the night to bring our faithful readers another season of Whim Internet Magazine. That's right, nothing can stop Whim, not even a catastrophic failure of the Portal, resulting in our inability to retrieve our graphics and articles! Whim rises above all!
Yes proletariats worldwide, your underground source of news and entertainment, your sparkle of hope when the oppressors come knocking on your door to evict you from your home and sell your children to rice planters in Cambodia, your Polaris in an abyss of starless skys - it's back! One quick look around and you'll see that Whim is stronger than ever. While my strength is fading as the clock rapidly approaches what the capitalist watchdogs dub "3am," you should know that Whim will live far beyond me!
Aside from the new look, Whim also would like to introduce Toon Manager Christian Keesee. After spending several years living in drug-infested communities while barely breaking even as a "Green Day Impersonater" Christian Keesee kicked his habit and started a new one: drawing comics! Check out this week's off-beat humor from Christian, Walt Rieker and Thomas King! By all means, don't stop there, Whim has thirty new articles for your viewing pleasure, ranging from the cynical to the somber.
If this is your first time to Whim, welcome (aside from you capitalist pigs)! Whim is Radford University's Online Magazine bent on bringing you the true voice of the student body. Last spring we were nominated for the ACP Online Pacemaker Award, the oldest and most prestigious award in college media. Thanks to our talented staff of writers and our faithful audience, we seek to bring Whim to new heights in Season 18.
Without further ado, read on, proletariat!
