About VAACE
The Virginia Association for Adult and Continuing Education is an association of adult and continuing education practitioners. It is dedicated to the professional interests and learning needs of its members.
VAACE serves the practitioner who is active in city and county adult programs, extension services, government, industry, health services, higher education, and nonprofit organizations.
VAACE is dedicated to the professional development of its members, providing many invaluable services and opportunities as the profession faces more challenges than ever before.
VAACE membership is more than dues paid and even more than the services outlined in this brochure. Membership represents an exchange of ideas and information, a forum for new developments in the profession, and finally, a professional environment for working, learning, and communicating with other adult and continuing education practitioners.
Goals
- Join together as adult educators to increase the profession's strength and expand opportunities to meet the diverse needs of adult learners;
- Provide a forum through which adult educators can speak out on issues;
- Take actions that results in improved public awareness, understanding, and support of adult and continuing education;
- Provide a mechanism for collective action among the diverse membership groups;
- Seek resources to meet the needs of adult learners;
- Develop programs to enhance the professional development of adult educators;
- Assess the impact of adult and continuing education in Virginia.
