Dr. Grice is Professor of Communication. His research interests include instructional communication, public address, and business and professional communication. He co-edited Business and Professional Communications: Selected Readings and has recently co-authored a textbook entitled Mastering Public Speaking.

Dr. Grice taught at Trinity University, Sam Houston State University, and Auburn University at Montgomery before joining the Radford University faculty. He served as President of the Texas Speech Communication Association and has received several teaching awards, including Radford University’s 1996 College of Arts and Sciences Award for Distinguished Teaching and the Southern States Communication Association’s Excellence in Teaching Award. Dr. Grice teaches Public Speaking, Persuasion and Social Change, Persuasion, and Corporate and Professional Speechwriting. He also serves as the teaching mentor for graduate students in the Corporate and Professional Communication graduate program.

His research interests include instructional communication, public address, business and professional communication, and oral communication across the curriculum. John Skinner and he have co-authored the highly successful public speaking textbook Mastering Public Speaking, now in its sixth edition.

Dr. Grice spends some of his discretionary time baking cheesecakes, attending auctions, and watching the Chicago Cubs continue to break his heart.
