Graphics Creating/Editing
Students will use the Adobe CS4 Suite to create and modify a variety of digital image formats. Various digital image formats and related attributes will be discussed in detail (GIF, JPEG, SWF, Bitmap, .PSD, .PDF). Students will learn how to create static web banners, logos, magazine cover layouts, animated images, and image maps (web pages). Students will also learn the basics of image optimization.

Assignment 2 1) How to use the "Crop" & "Straighten" tools in Adobe Photoshop CS4.

Five images in one Make each image the same dimensions. Crop and straighten each individual image then upload the original and the three fixed images to your Google Sites  - To Your "Documents & Assignments" page.

 

Assignment 3 1)  Working with multiple layer compositions - creating multiple payers within Photoshop
-2) Selecting and transforming image elements - using selection tools within Photoshop. 
3) Cropping, straightening, and sizing images
4) Adding text - using the text tools within Photoshop.  

5) Saving/Image Formats - .JPEG and .PSD.

 		 Download at least 4 images and demonstrate how one can select and remove portions of one image and add them to another using the selection tools. Create 4 new images from the existing 4 for a total of 8 images. Upload all images to your Google Sites "Documents & Assignments" page AND/OR embed them into the document for immediate display.

Assignment 4 Creating static web banners
Using knowledge gained from previous assignments create ten static web banners.		 Using Adobe Photoshop, create five FICTITIOUS  web banners

1 Full size horizontal banners (~2 x 7) or (1 x 5) 
1 Half size horizontal banners (~2 x 3) or (1 x 2) 
1 Full size verticle banners (~7 x 2) or (5 x 1)
1 Square banners (2 x 2) or (3 x 3) or (4 x 4)

Creating Logos - use shape, selection, and text tools within Photoshop  to create logos. Use techniques and  processes from previous assignments to create and save as .GIF, .JPEG, .PDF, and .PSD files. 		Create a total of five logos.

Assignment 6 Magazine Cover Layout Example - use Photoshop to create a (8" x 10.5") fictitious magazine cover layout example. Save as .PDF. Create THREE fictitious magazine cover layouts (8" x 10.5") utilizing all information and techniques covered in the course up to this point.
