MAPLE

Maple is installed on all computers on the second floor of Walker. If you are trying to run it from another location you may need to set it up first.

1. Open "My Computer" and check whether there is a drive mapped to "software on 'ru-apps'".

2. If not, you need to map a network drive to this location.

3. Click on the Tools tab and select "map network drive"

4. Select any drive letter (most people use S)

5. For folder type "\\ru-apps\software"

6. Check the "reconnect on login" box if you want the mapping to be permanent

7. The first time you try to access a Maple application you will be prompted for an application to use. Select "S:\Maple 9.5\bin.win\cwmaple9.5.exe"

The best introduction to Maple is one written by Prof. Gerlach from the Radford Math. Dept. This can be found on his web page at http://www.radford.edu/~jgerlach/Maple/MaplePage.htm. Look for the link "JG's Maple Introduction."
