MediaStorm.org Review

Searching and exploring mediastorm.org was definitely an interesting experience. The site is a compilation of different works of art, film, photography, and music, all mixed into one unique source. The home page itself seems to be very bland and uncomplicated but in actuality the CSS and HTML coding behind it is most definitely pretty complex.

The way the site allows you to search and choose your films to watch really caught my eye; it's a horizontal scrolling link image bar, meaning still shots of these films are lined up horizontally and when you place the cursor on them they begin to scroll sideways until you find the video of your choice. The background of MediaStorm, is very interesting. It was originally started by the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 1994, to be remade in 2005 with one main purpose, "to create cinematic narratives for distribution across a variety of platforms."

In its quest to create these narratives, MediaStorm has come across much prestige, it is an award winning website. MediaStorm has been honored with two Emmys and four Webby Awards since they began their venture. Exploring this website, mediastorm.org, has been enlightening and informative to how well a media source, such as a website, can reach the public and really help make the public think.
