Tournament entries close on Monday, July 7 (including the submission of the entry fee). Any teams wishing to enter after that date or who have not paid must contact us directly (see above) and get confirmation from the tournament chairman.

As stated above, this event is a qualifier ONLY. The top team (according to the MARFU 7's rules) will be the #4 seeded team in the MARFU Championship. All non-seeded teams will have their LAST chance to qualify for the Championship. For further information about the actual MARFU 7s Qualifier process, it's on-line at http://www.rugby.org/marfu.htm under "Sevens".

Seedings for this year's tournament will be strictly based on the preceding three tournaments (Bethlehem, Virginia Beach and PAC) and will follow the guidelines used for seeding the MARFU Championship.

Directions are on-line at http://www.rugby.org/bludrct.htm (note: these are the directions to "City Park"; IF we have a ton of teams, we will move the event to Lake Taylor).

Additional "stuff" as of 6/24/97:

1. Hotels: I've called around today and there are plenty of rooms (if you need them) BUT ONLY IF YOU CALL SOON (this IS the summertime, after all).

Hampton Inn-Naval Base: 757-489-1000
Hampton Inn-Airport: 757-466-7474
Holiday-Inn Executive Center: 757-499-4400
Ramada Inn-Airport: 757-464-9351

(plus many others, these were just the "usual" ones that I called. The Lake Wright IS booked solid, though.)

2. Lafayette Park: We will using the "regular" Blues 15s home field. As many of you know, there are PLENTY of trees (which is why we chose it over Lake Taylor this year) and... if you have kids, they can go to the zoo or to the near-by playground (accompanied by an adult, of course).

3. We will have medical personnel (EMT) on-site.

4. Limited amounts of free(!) Gatorade will be available, as well as soft drinks (for sale). There is a 7-11 across the street and a McDonald's to the north.

Any questions/complaints, contact me.
