In the beginning, God created all things. Including us folks.
He created us to be perfect, but gave us free will.
We chose to do wrong, and became separated from God.
For a long time, God required his people to atone for their sin through blood sacrifice.
Through this he taught us the seriousness of sin, and hinted at what He would do next.
Then God sent Jesus, who lived a perfect life, and became our sacrifice.
Jesus took upon himself all our sin, died on the cross and rose from the dead three days later.
In the greatest transaction of all time, Christ paid the penalty for our sin, and purchased us a place in heaven.
He took our sin, and gave us His righteousness.
If we accept Jesus Christ's payment for our sin, then God will forgive us, and...
We are no longer separated from God.
And it's offered as a free gift! We cannot earn it or deserve it.
