When starting the report writer in Oracle Developer 6 you receive the error message:
REP-0118 can't create temporary file
The problem is that the path set in the registry (hkey_local_machine->software->oracle) as the value of the REPORTS60_TMP key points to a directory that does not exist:
d:\software\orant\report60\tmp
This directory is not created as part of the remote oracle installation in the computer labs. This problem is now corrected but if a lab machine is rebuilt and the correction not applied the error can be easily corrected by creating a TMP directory at the path specified above.
