Mattresses/Sheets:

   1.   What size are the beds?

·        The beds on campus are all twin sized.  Most of them are the standard length (36” x 75”), although we are increasing the number of extra long mattresses in all halls.  Floyd Hall, Peery Hall, Stuart Hall, Trinkle Hall, Muse, Ingles Hall and Madison Hall all have extra long mattresses (36” x 80”).

   2.   Are extra long beds available?

·        Extra long beds are available for a limited number of people.  We give highest priority for longer bed frames to those individuals who are 6’2” or taller in height.

   3.   What size sheets do you recommend?

·        Bringing sheets that are extra long is the best idea, regardless of the bed length.  Many students bring egg crate foam mattress pads and mattress covers to make their beds more comfortable.  Extra long sheets can accommodate the extra thickness of these items with the slick surface of the mattress.

   4.   Can I bring my own mattress from home?

·        You can bring a twin-size mattress if you would like.  Some students use the University mattress like a box spring and add a mattress on top.  The RU mattress must stay in the room.
