| Saturday |
- Hooding Ceremony for the Graduate College:
- December: 8:30 a.m.
- May: 8:00 a.m.
- Guest seating begins:
- December: 8:30 a.m. Dedmon Center doors open
- May: 8:30 a.m. open seating in Moffett Quad is available
- 9:00 a.m.: Undergraduate candidates should begin to assemble with their College in the following areas:
- December: arena staging area (this is the left side of the Dedmon Center at the opposite end of the main doors)
- May: Arts and Science graduates should assemble on the sidewalk in between Pocahontas and Fairfax Halls with the processional line progressing in front of Pocahontas and up the sidewalk on the other side of Pocahontas as necessary; all other graduates should assemble on the sidewalk in between Ingles and Fairfax Halls in order by College (Business, Education, ITEC, Visual & Performing, Waldron -- LOOK FOR THE SIGNS!!); Graduate College candidates should assemble at the front of the processional line in between Ingles and Fairfax after the Hooding Ceremony concludes
- 10:00 a.m.: Processional and Commencement Ceremony will begin

| December and May Information |
December: all Colleges graduate together in the Dedmon Center in College order after the main ceremony has concluded.
May: individual college ceremonies take place in the following areas at 12:00 noon:
- Arts and Sciences: Moffett Quad
- Business & Economics: McConnell Library Lawn
- Education & Human Development: Dedmon Center Arena\
- Information Science & Technology: Pridemore Theatre, Porterfield Hall
- Visual & Performing Arts: Sculpture Court
- Waldron College of Health & Human Services: Preston Auditorium
NOTE: COSD, FDSN, and NURS candidates will graduate during the 12:00 noon ceremony in Preston. RCPT and SOWK candidates will graduate during a 1:30 ceremony in Preston.

| Graduation Ceremony Admission Tickets: |
Admission tickets are issued based on the number of graduating students which varies from year to year. These tickets are mandatory for admission to the December ceremony but will only be used in case of inclement weather for the May ceremony.
December: Tickets will ONLY be issued to graduating students and may be picked up at the Registrar’s Office in Martin Hall with a valid picture ID.
May: Tickets will ONLY be issued to graduating students with a valid picture ID and may be picked up in the Advising Center of their respective College, with the exception of the College of Arts and Sciences which distributes tickets through the Department of a student's major.
** Note: No additional tickets will be available. If the student’s tickets have not been procured before the day of graduation they will be available at the Dedmon Center’s riverside entrance on Saturday; again, an RU ID or other picture ID must be presented in order to receive tickets. |

| Latin Honors: |
| Undergraduate students with an overall GPA of 3.500 and above are eligible for Latin Honors and gold tassels will be given to eligible students at the time they pick up their Admission Tickets. Cumulative GPA's are calculated through the Summer term for students graduating in December and through the Fall term for students graduating in May. To be eligible for Latin Honors to be recorded on a student's transcript and diploma, however, the cumulative GPA on the date of the conferral of the degree is used. |

| Cap and Gown Information: |
Contact the University Bookstore in Dalton Hall for information on ordering a cap, gown, and announcements. The bookstore can be reached at 540.831.5144.

| Deadlines: |
Two weeks before graduation:
- All students must check the online degree audit (https://www.portal.radford.edu/MyRU.php). If your major is BGS, IDSL, IDSM, IDMR, IDEC OR IDSE the audit is not available. Please direct questions regarding this audit to the Registrar’s Office at 540.831.5271
- Graduates: Two (2) copies of your completed thesis must be turned in to the Graduate College, Preston 217

| Last day of Classes |
ALL information pertaining to your academic record must be completed by this date!
- Undergraduates: All degree requirements must be finished by this date, including internships, practicum, study abroad, and student teaching/blocking. Grade changes including "I" and "IP" must be received in the Registrar's Office.
- Graduates: All degree requirements must be finished by this date, including Incomplete grade changes, program changes, Comprehensive Exam report, Thesis defense report, and final Thesis copies turned in to the Graduate College.

| Day of Graduation |
| ALL grade rosters, grade change forms, program change forms, Comprehensive Exam report forms and Thesis defense report forms must be turned in to the Registrar's Office for consideration in the graduation clearing process. |
|
| One month after graduation |
If you completed your final courses at another school, an OFFICIAL transcript that reflects successful completion of the course must be received by the Registrar’s Office, Radford University, P.O. Box 6904, Radford, VA 24142 by this date
- Undergraduates: All transfer work must be completed with a grade of “C” or better
- Graduates: All transfer work must be completed with a grade of “B” or better

| Certification |
| Students who wish to be recommended for certification to teach in the State of Virginia should complete an application for teacher certification. These forms may be obtained in Peters Hall, Room A104. REMEMBER: Applications cannot be submitted without the application fee. This must be in the form of a Certified Check, Money Order, Cashier’s Check or Personal Check made payable to the Virginia Department of Education. Praxis exams should have been taken and the scores sent to the College of Education and Human Development, Radford University, P.O. Box 6960, Radford, VA 24142 in order to be forwarded with your teacher certification application. |

| Diplomas |
| Students will not receive their diplomas on the day of graduation. Diplomas will be mailed to the student’s permanent address as listed on the database in the Registrar’s Office approximately 8 weeks after graduation. All permanent address changes must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office prior to the end of the semester in which a student graduates. This can be done online at http://www.radford.edu/~registra/address_change.htm. Outstanding obligations to RU must be cleared before your diploma will be mailed. Please check for blocks on your account online through the Student Information System. |

| Financial Aid Recipients |
| All other loan recipients: You should contact the Financial Aid Office regarding finalizing loan requirements.
** Be sure to follow all instructions & print the confirmation page at the end of the process. **
If you have questions or concerns regarding completing the exit interviews online, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 540.831.5408. Students who fail to complete this requirement will not only be blocked from future registration at Radford University but their diploma and transcripts will also be held until this interview has been completed. |

| Transcripts |
| If you need a copy of your final transcript, please complete and submit either by fax or in person in the Registrar’s Office a Transcript Request Form prior to the end of the semester. Please indicate on this form that you are graduating and that the request is to be held for final degree conferral. |
