* University-wide Curriculum Changes:
1. Create, merge, or delete
departments, programs and colleges
2. revise university-wide graduation requirements
3. affect the oversight process for the Bachelor of
General Studies degree and IDSL programs
Such changes may start as proposals from the President or Vice-President for Academic Affairs to departments and/or colleges. Faculty Senate comments on and recommends approval or disapproval of any proposals for university-wide changes affecting curriculum.
** General Education Curriculum Changes:
These go from the General Education Curricular Advisory Committee (GECAC) to both the Faculty Senate and the Student Government Association (SGA). SGA may comment on the proposal. Any revisions "in the general education curriculum should be approved by the Faculty Senate and the President. Should substantive differences occur, they should be reconciled through consultation among the two parties. Otherwise, the Faculty Senate and/or the President may address their respective views to the Board of Visitors for consideration and appropriate action" (http://www.radford.edu/~gened/admin.html).
