MUSC 104. The Arts, Entertainment, and the Marketplace
Three Hours Lecture (3).
An overview of the many diverse fields and career opportunities within the Arts & Entertainment industries is covered with an emphasis on music business related fields. A survey of career options, and a study of relevant publications and industry resources related to arts and entertainment media, retail, management, marketing, and promotion is included.
The purpose of this course is to provide students with an overview of the many types of occupations to be found in the Music Business and Entertainment Field. Areas to be covered are as follows:

The course will include interactive lectures, outside reading, and student projects.
Students are expected to acquire knowledge of the many varied arts and entertainment related job and career opportunities available to them after graduation.
Students will be assessed via their regular attendance, class participation, weekly assignments, exams, and oral and written presentations.
