DSNF 343. Sewn Product Analysis
Two hours lecture, two hours laboratory (3).

Prerequisites: DSNF 223 (Grade of “C” or better). Credit Hours:

Investigation of apparel quality through identification of product standards and specifications, performance, sizing, appearance, design, and production.

  1. Detailed Description of Content of Course

The student will be exposed to the principles, methods and techniques of quality control and quality assessment. Topics include: apparel design (function and potential production problems); fabric selection and sourcing; fabric and trim specifications; garment care; construction and production (production schedules and garment assembly techniques); quality control and analysis; data analysis and application to predict outcomes.

  1. Detailed Description of Conduct of Course

Lecture will cover the basic concepts of apparel quality. In the laboratory students will perform experiments, collect data, discuss results, and analyze product quality.
