FINC 472. Independent Study
One to four credit hours (1-4).
Prerequisites: Approval of instructor.
Gives an individual student the opportunity to examine a topic of personal interest in more depth than is possible in any existing course. No student may apply more than six hours of credit for Independent Study toward graduation requirements.
The Independent Study is a course designed to allow the student to examine a topic in more depth than is possible in an existing course.
The course consists of independent research/study by the student from one or more of a variety of sources which may include primary and/or secondary works.
At the conclusion of the course, the student will demonstrate a greater understanding of a specific are of interest.
Assessment of the student's success is based primarily on the finished research report and periodic meetings with the supervising instructor.
