MGNT 322. Organizational Behavior. (3)
Three hours lecture.
A study of behavior of individuals and groups within
organizations and of the organization itself. Intended to
develop in managers a greater awareness of the problems and
opportunities in managing human resources in organizations. A
business core requirement.
B. Detailed Description of the Content of the Course
The major topics to be covered in Organizational Behavior are:

c. Conflict and Stress
3. Organizational Structure and Process
a. Supportive Organizational Systems

d. Organizational Change and Development
e. Leadership Theory
4. The External Organizational Environment
a. Concepts of Corporate Responsibility
b. Organizational Ethics and Morality
C. Detailed Description of Conduct of the Course
The course consists of lecture/discussion, research projects,
examinations. Theories will be discussed, with cases and
experiential exercises as appropriate. Student presentations
may be required, and students may be assigned to groups.
D. Goals and Objectives of the Course
At the conclusion of the course, the student will be able to:
Analyze issues in the field of organizational behavior.
Assess the process of managing organizational change and the
relationship between individual, group, and organizational
successes.
Specify what goes on in the minds of managers and employees
when they interact in organizations.
Cope with the uncertainty, conflict, and complexities of
organizational life.
E. Assessment Measures
Assessment of the student's success in the course is based on
the grades for hourly examinations, the final examination, and
possible term projects. Some instructors may include oral
class participation--either individually or in groups--in their
assessment.
