Teaching Philosophy:

I guess it's that I like to bother people. It seems that in the modern age "We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?" (Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451) In particular, I like to bother students and I believe that political science focuses on the ideas and values and questions about which they should be bothered. Because I believe students need to confront and ask questions about happiness, justice, the 'good' regime, and the role of citizens in the political community, I emphasize political philosophy in the courses I teach.

Teaching Areas: Politics and fiction, constitutional law, political philosophy, American Government.

Other Interests: Music, reading, cooking, track and field

Dr. Hrezo will be on professional leave during the Spring 2008 semester
