RU Hosts Science, Math and IT Summer Bridge Program for High Schoolers
RADFORD -- Radford University’s College of Science and Technology will host its Summer Bridge Program in Information Technology, Mathematics and Sciences for female sophomores, juniors and seniors Thursday, June 19 Tuesday, June 24 on RU’s campus. Students will choose two of the 10 program tracks, work on class assignments and projects and meet other young women from across Virginia interested in information technology, math and the sciences. Students will be able to explore subjects such as database and network management, computer game creation, web site development, mathematics in art, math teaching, biotechnology, forensic anthropology and astronomy. Students also will visit RU’s planetarium, greenhouse, Selu Conservancy and the Museum of the Earth Sciences. Anthropology professor and forensic anthropologist Donna Boyd will be the keynote speaker for the banquet on Sunday, June 22. For more information, contact Ann Hillenbrand at (540) 831-7749. |
