GROUNDS WORKER (Trades Technician I) (#00126D) Facilities Management. Perform general grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, mulching, raking, seeding, pruning, refuse collection. Must be available for emergency call-ins. Work Hours: 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday, with rotating weekend work required. QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to follow written and oral instructions. A valid driver’s license is required. Ability to lift or move 50 pounds regularly and report to work within 30 minutes of an emergency call-in. Previous landscape experience preferred. Normal Starting Salary: $17,555(Pay Band 1). Application Deadline: 4:00 p.m. on September 8, 2008.
HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR (Housekeeping and Apparel Services Worker II) (#00488C) Facilities Management. Schedule/assign work for zone housekeeping workers to include normal housekeeping tasks; resilient floor care; carpet cleaning; delivery of supplies/equipment; and furniture moving in residence halls. Arrange work schedules for daily requirements, weekend events and special functions. Serve as back-up to zone manager. Oversee recycling efforts in all facilities and assist with snow removal operations. This is a working supervisor position requiring approximately 60% of each shift accomplishing housekeeping cleaning tasks. Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with some evening, weekend and overtime required. Must be available on a rotating basis for emergency call-in. QUALIFICATIONS: Extensive knowledge of institutional housekeeping services and resilient floor care maintenance required. Demonstrated supervisory experience in housekeeping and/or general building maintenance and repair desired. Good oral/written communication and decision making skills required. Must have a current/valid driver’s license. Previously advertised. Previous applicants do not have to reapply to be considered.
