(MOAA), formerly TROA, Scholarship Fund

Robert C. Byrd Scholarship High School Principal's Office This federally funded program, administered by the Virginia Department of Education, awards merit-based scholarships to high school seniors based on demonstrated outstanding academic achievement.

Lee-Jackson Scholarship Program Applications may be obtained from the high school guidance counselor approximately the last week of September of each school year.  This privately funded program is administered by the Virginia Department of Education.

Mary Marshall Nursing Scholarship Program For more information, call the Virginia Department of Health at (804) 371-4090. Awards are given to students who agree to work in the nursing profession in Virginia at the rate of one month for every $100 of aid received.

Police Corps Scholarships For more information, click here. The Police Corps provides scholarships on a competitive basis to students who agree to earn their bachelor's degrees, complete approved Police Corps training, and then serve for four years on patrol, as assigned, with law enforcement agencies in areas of great need. Undergraduates must attend college full time and may receive up to $7,500 per academic year. Visit the Dept. of Justice web site.

Virginia Teaching Scholarship Loan Program Colleges and universities nominate juniors and seniors who have at least a 2.7 grade point average for final selection by the Virginia Department of Education.  For more information, students should contact the Director of the Education Department at Participating Colleges or Universities in Virginia.  This program provides assistance to full-time students enrolled at a participating
Virginia institution in an approved teacher preparation program for special
education, chemistry, physics, earth and space science, foreign languages, or technology education.  Minority students may be enrolled in any content area and male students may be enrolled in any approved elementary or middle
schoolteacher preparation program.   The institutions nominate juniors and seniors
who have at least a 2.7 grade point average for final selection by the Virginia Department of Education.

Gates Millennium Scholars  Application link-Click Here An individual is eligible to be nominated as Gates Millennium Scholars if he or she is: African American, American Indian/Alaska Native**, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American;  is a citizen or legal permanent residents or national of the United States; has attained a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale***; will enter an accredited college or university as full-time, degree-seeking freshmen in the fall of 2002 (for 2002-03 awards);  has a significant financial need (i.e., meet the federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria);and  has demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities. Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants Graduate Accounting Scholarship www.vscpa.com and www.vscpa.com/studentzone.htm Applicant must be a U.S. citizen enrolled or accepted in a graduate accounting program in Virginia.  An official transcript, a current resume, a faculty letter of recommendation on school letterhead and an essay are also required. Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarships Applications may be obtained at www.cfenet.com The Ritchie - Jennings Memorial Scholarship is open to all full-time undergraduate and graduate studens with a declared accoutning or criminal justice major at a four-year college or university.  This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of overall academic achievement demonstrated by notarized transcripts, three letters of recommendation and an original essay. Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund Scholarship www.feea.org Eligible applicants include current civilian federal and postal employees with at least three years of federal service and their dependent family members (children & spouses).  Employee applicants may be part-time students; dependents must be full-time.  All applicants must be enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited post secondary school in a course of study that will lead to a two-year, four-year or graduate degree.  All applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA.  Scholarships are strictly merit based. Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarships www.rotary.org All applicants must be citizens of a country in which there are Rotary Clubs and have completed at least two years of college-level coursework or equivalent professional experience before commencing their scholarship studies.  Initial appplication must be made through a local Rotary Club in the applicant's legal or permanent residence or place of full-time study or employment.
Hispanic College Fund, Inc. Scholarship www.hispanicfund.org Applicant must be a U.S. citizen of Hispanic background residing in the fifty states or Puerto Rico pursuing a bachelor's degree in business or business related major in the Fall 2002.  Applicant must also be a full-time undergraduate in the fifty states or Puerto Rico with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Sallie Mae Fund Unmet Need Scholarship Program www.thesalliemaefund.org Students must demonstrate financial need of more than $1000 without loans: have a combined family income of $30,000 or less: and have a cumulative grade point average between 2.5 and 3.0 or the equivalent. May 31
The Virginia Business and Professional Women's Foundation Scholarships Applications can be obtained at http://bpwva.advocate.net The Virginia Business and Professional Women's Foundation offer a variety of scholarships, loans, and grants to assist women re-entering the job market or futhering their educationand careers.
