On Campus Events
Moving off-campus does not
mean that you can’t take advantage of the great activities
offered at RU. Starting
during Fall 2003, the Student
Activities web-site
www.radford.edu/~stuact
will have the main Student Activities
Calendar linked to
it. This calendar will list events that take place on
campus and can easily be accessed on and off
campus.
Around RU
The City of Radford and
Montgomery County are both full of hot spots for students.
Main Street and Downtown
Radford are lined with
shops and restaurants that attract students and members of
the community. Here are some
other great places to
visit.
Area Parks
Bisset, Wildwood, Sunset,
Riverview, Sisson
Parks and the James
Oakley Playing Fields offer a variety of activities.
These parks have
shelters, grills and playing fields that members of the
community can use. The largest, Bisset,
stretches along the
river with 58 acres of playing fields, tennis courts, a
paved jogging path, canoeing, picnic sites
and the community
pool. Not sure where Bisset is? All you have to do is look
down as you cross the bridge to Wal-
Mart.

New River, Radford
City Pool, part of
Bisset
Park, is opened from
Memorial Day
weekend through Labor

popular spot for RU and Virginia Tech students. Students
can enjoy an afternoon of tubing
down the river or just
laying out on the rocks.

Christiansburg through open fields,
rocky hillsides,
shaded wooded areas and into downtown Blacksburg. The
Huckleberry Trail runs roughly six miles
