Welcome to Radford University! We’re sorry that we missed you at this summer’s Quest program, but we haven’t forgotten about you. We share your concern about registering for fall classes, getting moved in and becoming acquainted with your new home. We have a special fall orientation program designed to meet your new student needs.
Beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28th and continuing on Friday, August 29th, our orientation staff will greet you and take you through a concise, yet informative orientation, advising and registration program. We will have our trained staff ready to answer your questions as you embark on your Radford University career. It is extremely important for you to attend this Fall Orientation program. We are here to help ensure your successful transition to RU, but we need your attendance at this program to make it work. |

What Can You Expect? You can expect to be academically advised and registered for an appropriate class schedule to begin your first semester at RU. Note: You will be required to pay all tuition and fees, room and board charges at the time of registration. A number of student Orientation Assistants and Faculty Advisors will be on hand to ensure your questions are answered. As part of the program, you will receive a meal ticket good for dinner on Thursday and breakfast on Friday. A series of social events afterwards will help you meet other new freshmen like yourself.
Parent/Guardian Program We will have an Information Session following the opening welcome to answer any questions your parent/guardian(s) might have as they bring you to school and Fall Orientation. They are welcome to stay through dinner on Thursday, August 29th.
NOTE: You may receive information about other special programs (Honors Academy, Work-Study) that have pre-school activities on Friday, August 29th as well. It is important that you attend this Fall Orientation program first to be properly advised and registered for classes. After completing this process you may join activities in other areas.

How To Reserve Your Space Beginning on Monday, July 28th, students who have paid their deposit to RU, or have been admitted after June 1st, will be mailed an invitation to our Fall Orientation program.
It is important that we know, in advance, your plans to attend Radford University so we can adequately prepare your advising and course selection materials.
Additionally, there is no cost for this program as it is covered by your New Student Matriculation Fee. We hope you will take full advantage of this opportunity to become a part of the Radford University community.
How and Where to Report Most new freshmen will be living on campus in one of the University's residence halls. You will receive notice of your room assignment in early August. Because of the special nature of Fall Orientation, please take advantage of the residence halls opening at noon and move in to your room early on Thursday, August 28th. Once you get settled, please make sure to check in between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 pm in the Peters Hall Gymnasium for the orientation program which will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m. in the Bondurant Auditorium in Preston Hall.
