Ten Ways to Help Yourself
SOMETMES STRESS SNEAKS UP on us, so it’s
important to be proactive when working through difficult times.
- Eat
a well-balanced diet. Avoid
the temptation to grab fast food.\
- Go
easy on caffeine, alcohol, fatty foods and sweets.
- Set
aside time for a regular sit-down family dinner.
- Watch
a funny television show.
- Exercise
regularly to boost your energy. Just
30 minutes a day will increase your heart rate. Incorporate daily activities such as stair-climbing or
simple stretches at your desk.
- Take
a quick walk at lunch.
- Take
time for reflection. This may
include prayer, relaxation exercises, meditation or listening to music.
- Find
an outlet for sharing your feelings.
Remember, however, that the way you vent to your spouse may be
different than how you want to vent in the workplace.
- Get
plenty of sleep.
- Try
to find humor in your situation.
