guest clinicians: Joko and Tri Sutrisno
March 27 & 28, 1998



Joko Sutrisno, a native of Central Java, began learning gamelan at the age of 8. He holds degrees in traditional gamelan and new compositions and has received many awards. For the past 15 years, Joko has been a gamelan instructor in Java, in New Zealand and in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Tri Sutrisno is a dancer from Central Java, specializing in traditional dances of Indonesia (Java, Bali, and Sumatra). She holds a degree in Indonesian Traditional Dance, as well as a primary school teachers certificate, and has toured as a solo dancer. Tri has taught dance in Indonesia, New Zealand and Minnesota to a wide range of adult, community and childrenŐs groups.
