Course Overview

This laboratory will provide you with an opportunity to put your knowledge of research methods and design from lecture into application as we conduct various experiments of different design. You will also learn to appropriately interpret the data we create in order to derive meaning from it. Three major papers based on our experiments and five homework assignments will comprise your grade in this course. The final experiment will be designed by you, and will utilize factorial design. Each paper is to be written in APA style, which can be found in the APA publication manual as well as in other writer’s reference sources. Your percentage score will be calculated as follows: Paper 1 - 10%, Paper 2 -15%, Paper 3 - 25%, and each homework assignment is worth 10% of your final grade. Homework is due the next class meeting after it is assigned, with a letter grade deduction for each day late. It will be possible to earn an extra 5% through significant participation in class.
