Past Graduate Student Theses involving microelectrode recordings from the barrel cortex supervised by Dr. Joe King:
SantaMaria, Michael P. (1995) Responses in The Rat Barrel Cortex to the Texture and Orientation of Tactile Gratings. Michael has completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology at LSU, and currently holds a postdoctoral position at the University of Buffalo Medical Center.
Hovis, Shannon (November, 1997) Unit responses of vibrissal cortex to various orientations of different texture gratings as a function of different rates of whisking in rats. Shannon is continuing her work in unit recording as a laboratory director at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Stallings, Lisa (April, 1998) Unit responses in Barrel Cortex During Performance of A Vibrissal Tactile Discrimination Task in Rats. Lisa is currently a Ph.D. student in neurobiology at UCLA.
Nackley, Andrea (July, 2000) An Integrative review of Data and Theoretical Perspectives Regarding Brain Function in the Vibrissal System. Andi is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Georgia.
