| I scampered around Norfolk
for a few days, talking to real estate
agents, saw some property, and called some mortgage company people.
It was all very fun and exciting, and I felt all grown up or something.
After a few days of "unrealistic" excitement, the following decisions were
made: It's difficult for me to make the decision on real estate and mortage
right now since 1) I don't have time to go over all the excruciating details
and intricacies of the situation before making an informed decision; 2)
my parents who will have to co-sign the contract are 5-hours away and it's
not a decision that can be reached in a weekend visit; 3) my loving fiance
Iain who will also be part of the property investment is across the Atlantic;
4) even though we looked into the real estate market in the Ghent area of
Norfolk (round school) with the intention of rent it out after I graduate,
that means we'll have two mortgages to burden when Iain and I do purchase
a home wherever we settle down. So unless by some miracle like the
stock market goes through the roof, Iain and I will visit the real estate
market again later when he comes back. Even though a detailed analysis
of our resources pretruded us from purchasing any property right now, it was
nevertheless a learning experience. I still want to put up some
pictures of places I saw, just for fnits and giggle. I saw other houses and condos, but I only had
P-punk's digital camera on one on the days...

This was the "dream house",
red bricks, white columns, big porch, fireplaces, 6 bedrooms (hey, we'll
need all that for the kids!!!), pointy towers, and French windows, backyard....too
bad, it's over half a million dollars!!
