Spring Break 2002 - East Coast roadtrip

First stop: Richmond, Virgina - we met up with my high school friends Kim Kimbleton and Laura Fisher (later to be my bridemaids) and some of Kim's friends who were also in town.

Iain and Laura toasting to everyone's health.

Next, moving up north, making dinner at Sarah's house in Washington D. C., Spring Break 2002.
We cut down an entire forest for that gigantic salad in the center of the table.

Sarah, Iain and I met up with Sarah's housemates in Georgetown for drinks, then then later went to Adams Morgan for clubbing.

Iain, Sarah and I crashed our friend Grace's party for Vi's birthday in Northern Virginia.  Iain and Sarah suddenly became the ethnic minority at the party.

I started wearing Iain's hat for the rest of the evening.

Adam Knoff came and visited Iain and I in Norfolk in April, 2002.  I took the boys to a sketchy diner for their hangovers and then to the neuroscience lab where Adam enjoyed slicing brains.  Adam is Iain's best man.  And Adam himself is getting married May 29, 2004.

Iain picked me from the airport when I returned to the States from China, summer 2002.  It was his first time visiting Radford.

Oh, the lazy carefree days of the summer, watching the tides, the seagulls and the dolphins by the beach, before second year of medical school gets into full swing and before Iain commences his intense year of study in London.

Iain returned to the States for the holiday after the Michaelmas term and we celebrated his birthday.   He said it was the first birthday cake he's had in ages.

Iain and I went to Radford weekend of September 12, 2003 (before Hurricane Isabel)

According to Chinese wedding tradition, the bride and groom have to share a fruit, usually an apple, suspended in mid air as part of the wedding ceremony and exchange of vows.  So Iain and I decided to practice with pears...
