the quest for beauty, truth, and self
summer
1999
The summer of 1999, I backpacked
Europe for two months. It was part of the Summer Enrichment Program
of the University of Virginia
Jefferson Scholars Program. The 24 of us had a three week program
in the Tuscan hills of Italy at Capitiagno under the care of Drs. and Mrs
Aechlimann. So much of us travelled before the program to convene in
Italy and did more travelling after the program to round out the summer.
