A Little Something About Italy:
I absolutely love Italy and will most likely live there at some point in my life. The weather was warm and sunny and there was NO RAIN! (It was definitely nice to end our trip in Italy after being cold and wet for two weeks in Ireland). One of the best things about Italy is the food. The gelato, pasta and pizza were personal favorites of mine.
Sitting down to dinner is really very relaxing and enjoyable. You are expected to take your time and it is pretty much expected that you will be drinking wine with your dinner, which was totally fine by me. You know when in Italy do as the Italians do!
The language barrier was not really that much of a problem. I found that I was able to get by knowing a few key phrases, but most of the people that you interact with speak at least a little bit of English. I found that I really enjoyed listening to Italian and it seemed like after a few days I did not even realize that the people walking through the streets were speaking a different language.
