Dublin is the capital of Ireland with a population of 1.2 million. It is located on the East Coast of Ireland and is predominately Catholic and Protestant. The average temperature of Dublin is 15 to 20 degrees Celsius and it is not unusual nor unlikely for it to rain everyday for weeks at a time. The Liffey river runs through Dublin and out into the Irish Sea. We actually had fairly nice weather in Dublin, meaning it hardly rained and I did not have to bundle up in wool.
After being in Sligo for a week I was definitely ready for civilization and a nice big city. Dublin is not a city like New York where you are overwhelmed by all of the people, buildings and cars, but there was definitely a lot to see and do. While in Dublin I did a lot of walking, which was really the only option since Keith and Debbie had left us. There was always something going on in the streets. Our hotel was in the Temple Bar area and so we were able to people watch and have fun in the city while staying close to "home". I did some shopping here but mostly just walked around the city and tried to take everything in.
