Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher rise 650 feet (200 m) out of the Atlantic Ocean and extend for 5 miles (8 km). The face of the Cliffs are composed of layers of black shale and sandstone.
~
We visited the Cliffs of Moher the day after we arrived in Ireland, so they were virtually the first sight we saw. I had no idea what to expect from our journey to the Cliffs. I have seen cliffs before, but I don't think that anything could have prepared me for what I would see. The pictures that I took and really any picture I have seen of the Cliffs of Moher do not even compare to what one sees in person. A photograph cannot capture the beauty and sheer magnitude of the Cliffs.
