Caring Corner
The primary purpose of the Caring Corner and Ducky Derby is to raise funds to help support the seven pediatric trauma center in the Capital District.
We are asking for donations of “creative collectables and gifts”. Items that are new, handmade, unique and not normally found in most retail shops. Silent Auction items should be new, vintage and collectables. This will give Kiwanians and spouses attending the convention an opportunity to purchase unique and hand produced gifts at a fair price, and contribute to a very important and lifesaving project of the Capital District.
We will not mark any current donations down before the close of the convention. Any Items not sold or picked up prior to the closing of Caring Corner will be reduced the following year. Last year's Caring Corner items will be reduced and put in the "bargain corner" at this year’s Caring Corner.
Asking all clubs to participate by donating items meeting the above criterion. To help price the items fairly and recognize the efforts of the person giving their time and skill:
1) Handmade items: Identify the technique, materials and consider the time taken to make the product plus the cost of the materials used, to give us a price you consider appropriate.
Please Identify the artisan so we can give proper recognition.
2) New Items: Identify item and give retail price or value.
3) Silent Auction items: Send description of the Item and/or contents along with value and starting bid.
4) Collectables and antiques: Identify item, approximate vintage, estimated value. If highly collectable it may be used as a silent auction item.
Items should be delivered to the Caring Corner at the District Convention.
