Dr. Jayne E. Bucy

Dr. Bucy is the proud parent of a 9 year old daughter adopted from China in 1999 and a toddler adopted from China in August, 2006.

Dr. Bucy joined the faculty at Radford University in 2001. She teaches undergraduate courses in child psychology and graduate courses in school psychology. She received her Ph. D. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1995. She studied school psychology with an emphasis in early childhood. She has worked as a school psychologist in Florida, Virginia and Illinois.

Dr. Dianne Friedman
Professor of Psychology

Dr. Friedman has been a professor of psychology at Radford University since 1988.  Dr. Friedman's doctoral degree is in the field of school psychology, and her teaching specialty within that field is in direct and indirect interventions with families, children, and schools.  Her research interests are in children's self-efficacy in goal setting, expectations and persistence; parent attributions and investment in adopted and biological families; and parenting attitudes and practices within an evolutionary framework.
