My name is Jeff French and in this section of my webpage you can get to know me better and my connection with the game of Ice Hockey and my passion for it. I am originally from Meriden Connecticut. Hockey has been a big part of my life from the start.

My first ever job began at a very young age working for the Roanoke Express ECHL hockey team. Being so young I stuck with various simple tasks (delivering game programs to people, drinks and food to the press boxes, etc) However, as I grew older I was given a roll as a statistician and began working for the league I had to keep track of all players on the ice at all time to award +/- Goals. Listening inside the Penalty box was hilarious. Players would continue to jaw at each other after a fight, I was amazed at how many insults I learned from them.

I would hang around the locker room with the players in the 2003-04 season, went to all the games free to work, life was great then, however the team folded and even to this day its still hard to get over the Roanoke Express and the memories.

I actually wrote an more in-depth essay about my childhood growing up with this hockey franchise my first year of college. I received an A+ from a High Ranked Professor and the essay was shown as an example to students.

Being at Radford the Penguins are a crucial part of my life now more than ever. I can't play on my own and have fun here, since the Ice Station is gone, along with the Express (wow I miss the Northern states) I rely strickly on Greensboro during Breaks.Which is unbearable at times. I cheer for the Pens and have a blast. Making this website will be a great learning and fun experience.
