Coarse hair about 1.5 to 3 inches.  The under fur is 1 to 1.2 inches

The skin is grayish black beneath the white hairs

Has 5 long curved claws on the front feet

The front feet are shorter than the back feet

Has 5 shorter straighter claws on the back feet

Has two stripes which run from the neck to the tail

The width and length of the skunks strips varies
