Distribution

The red squirrel is found in the upper part of North America

It is found throughout Alaska and extends across Canada to the Northeastern United Sates

Its range extends down into the Southern Appalachian Area

Its range also extends down into the Rocky Mountain Area

Its preferred habitat is Coniferous trees, as well as deciduous, and mixed forests
