Page 81 - Formulas for Standard Deviation
The formula for Population Standard Deviation and for the Sample Standard Deviation is indicated by the wrong symbol. In each case, it should be σ and s not σ2 and s2, which is how they appear.
Page 82 - Formula for Sample Standard Deviation
The formula for Sample Standard Deviation should be s not s2
Page 83 - Formula for Sample Standard Deviation
The formula for Sample Standard Deviation should be s not σ2.
Page 85- Practice Exercise 1 - part d.
Question reads "Which is larger, the sample standard deviation or the population variance?"
It should read "Which is larger, the sample variance or the population variance?" Alternatively, it could read "Which is larger, the sample standard deviation or the population standard deviation?" They both have the same answer and same reason for being such.
