Certificate Focus and Timeline
New information systems are having a dramatic impact on all spheres of society. At RU, we believe there is a great need and opportunity for students and practitioners in variety of fields to learn to apply state-of-the art information technology and science to their disciplines. The graduate certificate in Informatics will provide students with skill sets that have wide-range applicability and can be immediately placed into practice.
- The Informatics Certificate is a 15 semester hour interdisciplinary post-baccalaureate certificate consisting of 3 core course + 2 discipline specifics courses.
- The Certificate is offered utilizing a cohort model. A group of students (cohort) start the certificate each fall semester and complete the 15 hour certificate the following summer.
- A flexible hybrid-model (live online and limited face-to-face class meetings) of instruction has been designed to meet the needs of working professional, as well as the full-time master's degree student.
- Certificate students should expect to be on-campus no more than 1-3 days during fall and spring semester, and 3-4 days during summer semester (May).
