Intro
Welcome to my web portfolio.
Here you will find my resume, background information, contact information, my blog, and information about the projects I have completed and the ones I am currently working on.
Currently, as my last two semesters before receiving my Computer Science degree approach, I have been researching companies and job postings in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and numerous other states, for a full-time position.
This summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to work as an intern at EvolvePoint, Inc. in Blacksburg, Va. I have gained valuable experience with ASP.NET, C#, MySql and XML. The majority of my duties involve writing new programs, sql queries, and fixing bugs.
This semester, I am performing Site Director duties for ACM's Mid-Atlantic Regional Contest which is sponsored IBM.
In 2002, I completed my first degree, a Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in Advertising/Communications from Edinboro University in Pennsylvania and
I recently returned to school, at Radford University, where I am senior pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science.
During the 2005-2006 school year, I was hired as a Lab Proctor and after only three months, I was hired as the Systems Administrator Assistant, and promoted from Lab Proctor to Proctor Manager for the College of Information
Science and Technology. I had the honor of being nominated as an Exceptional Student by Radford University's College of Information Science and Technology Faculty
and I was also the Vice-President of the Radford University Chapter of ACM and then elected President for the 2006-2007 school year, all while attending classes full-time and earning the distinction of being on the Dean's list.
As the Systems Administrator Assistant, I performed maintenance and troubleshooting of 5 computer labs, which run Windows XP, Mac OS X, Fedora Core 4, and Unix systems.
I also completed installation and configuration of new computers and hardware, while providing technical support for faculty, staff, and students.
My duties as Lab Proctors Manager, included hiring and training new employees, audit their hours worked, and do scheduling for the labs. I also developed
and implemented new guidelines for the proctors and reorganized manager duties. I managed a total of 17 proctors.
As the President of the Radford University Chapter of ACM, I am involved in organizing the IBM Sponsored Regional ACM Programming contest, the Radford University Student
programming competition and the High School/Community College programming competition.
