Dr. Bruneau is Professor Emeritus of Communication. His work concerns theory-building in several interrelated areas of study including  nonverbal communication, intrapersonal communication, and intercultural communication. In terms of these areas of study, Dr. Bruneau's present focus is on the concepts and processes of silence, time, empathy, and notions of self.  Dr. Bruneau retired from Radford University in 2002 and is currently enjoying the freedom to research, write, and catch as many fish as possible.
