Building the World Parliament Conference

Two Conference Thematic Epigrams

And so we have to labour and to work, and work hard, to give reality to our dreams. Those dreams are for India, but they are also for the world, for all the nations and peoples are too closely knit together today for any one of them to imagine that it can live apart. Peace is said to be indivisible, so is freedom, so is prosperity now, and so also is disaster in this One World that can no longer be split into isolated fragments.

Jawaharlal Nehru, speech on the eve of India's independence, 14 August 1947

There is a correlation here with Aurobindo's concept of the Supermind, in that a higher form of consciousness can be made immanent upon the material plane.... We are localized consciousness acting though aware individuals who seek to consciously connect, collaborate, and care about the future. Each one of us (as localized consciousness) is a reflection of nonlocal consciousness; and in this way we are also a reflection of each other.... These are signs of an emergent planetary civilization that respects diversity as well as unity coherence.... A planetary consciousness on Earth, expressed through a sentient, individualized humanity; may not only be a real possibility but the expression of the fundamental cosmic purpose.

Kingsley Dennis in Ervin Laszlo, What is Reality? 2016, pp.214-15

Goals of this Conference

Focus on building the World Parliament under the authority of the Earth Constitution

The Earth Constitution is translated into many languages, has been published in many editions, and is found on many websites such as:

www.worldparliament-gov.org

www.worldproblems.net

www.earth-constitution.org

www.earthfederation.info

www.radford.edu/gmartin

It serves as a universal model and blueprint

for a transformed World System

Our Goals:

1. Understand the absolute need for the world to unite spiritually, conceptually, and politically.

2. Understand the role of the Earth Constitution in uniting the world in these ways.

3. Understand basic structure and functioning of the Earth Constitution.

4. Understand why the World Parliament requires the framework of the

Constitution and make plans for its actualization.

6. Demonstrate the need to promote "Value Based Universal Education System" for the development of "Holistic Global Society."

7. Consider measures to get rid of the lethal arsenal of weapons of mass destruction and also taking steps to redirect the huge expenditure incurred for deploying Military / Police Personnel on a massive scale, towards human development.

Ananthanarayanan, Dr. Santinath Chattopadhyay, Ms. Zaklina Dimovska, Dr. Dauji Gupta, Dr. Glen T. Martin, Sri E. P. Menon, Mr. Amit Paul, Dr. Klaus Schlichtmann and Justice Valli Nayagam.

What is the World Parliament?: An Overview

We are bringing people together to study the structure of the World Parliament as this is described in the Earth Constitution and to brainstorm about how momentum for this Parliament can be developed.

We also want to discuss how we can we get the UN and other groups on board for developing real global democracy and activating a real World Parliament for the Earth.

In connection with this, we will be distributing to all full conference participants in Pune (free of charge) the book Our Common Future that includes both the Earth Constitution and the legislation passed by the 14th session of the Provisional World Parliament for merging the UN under the Earth Constitution.

We want to envision whether an actual permanent home for the Parliament might be constructed from which we could promote the development of the actual Parliament representing all the people on Earth.

Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune, has offered local hospitality

and complementary guest rooms for up to 40 guests.

(As of November 7, we have 32 guests registered for complementary guest rooms at Rajbaugh.)

The World Peace Center (WPC) at MIT Pune offers us accommodations for forty participants at beautiful Rajbaugh.  All participants come from the airport to Rajbaugh guest house on their own.  The WPC will arrange transport for the participants to come to the conference hall situated in main Alandi MIT campus and to go back to the guest house in Rajbaugh twenty kilometres away. We are invited to attend year-end music program at Rajbaugh on 30th evening followed by a special dinner. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea/coffee etc will be served by them free of cost. Our participants have to abstain from non-veg food, smoking, drinking alcohol and other intoxicants. Accommodation is at the guest house is completely free.

The University provides exclusively high quality vegetarian food.

(Drinking alcohol, smoking, intoxicants, and non-vegetarian food are not allowed)

Guests cover their own travel arrangements.
